Fire outbreak at JEDC, management reacts

The management of Jos Electricity Distribution PLC has reacted to the news of the fire incident at its corporate headquarters.

A brief statement by Dr Friday Adakole Elijah, Head, Corporate Communications of the company, confirmed the fire outbreak but described it as a minor one.

He said though the causes of the fire incident is yet to be known, it sprouted from one of the offices on the last floor.

The statement added that the fire only succeeded in destroying some items such as papers, chairs, and laptops that were destroyed in one of the offices.

“The entire building was not affected as men from the Plateau State fire service and staff rushed to the rescue of the corporate Headquarters,” he said.

He said that the damages though yet to be ascertained appears minimal.
